The Tavor 7 is a battle rifle designed and manufactured by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI). It is part of the Tavor family of rifles, which includes the Tavor TAR-21 and the Tavor X95. Here are some key features and details about the Tavor 7:

Design and Features:

  1. Caliber: The Tavor 7 is chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO, a powerful and widely used caliber for battle rifles and machine guns.
  2. Bullpup Configuration: Like other rifles in the Tavor series, the Tavor 7 utilizes a bullpup design, meaning the action and magazine are located behind the trigger group. This allows for a shorter overall weapon length without sacrificing barrel length, providing improved maneuverability in confined spaces.
  3. Modularity: The Tavor 7 is designed with modularity in mind. It has multiple accessory rails, including a full-length top rail for optics and side rails for additional attachments like lights and lasers.
  4. Ergonomics: The rifle features ambidextrous controls, including a safety lever, magazine release, and bolt catch/release. This makes it versatile for both right and left-handed shooters.
  5. Adjustable Gas Regulator: The Tavor 7 has an adjustable gas regulator, allowing the user to tune the rifle’s gas system for different types of ammunition and to optimize performance with or without a suppressor.
  6. Reliability: IWI designed the Tavor 7 to be highly reliable in harsh conditions, incorporating robust materials and construction standards typical of military-grade firearms.

Specifications:

  • Weight: Approximately 4.1 kg (9 lbs) without a magazine
  • Overall Length: 28.4 inches (72 cm)
  • Barrel Length: 17 inches (43 cm)
  • Rate of Fire: Semi-automatic

Intended Use:

The Tavor 7 is intended for military, law enforcement, and civilian markets. Its design caters to modern combat requirements, providing a compact, reliable, and powerful rifle suitable for various tactical scenarios.

Conclusion:

The Tavor 7 expands the Tavor series into the 7.62×51mm NATO category, offering a powerful option for those needing a battle rifle with the unique advantages of a bullpup design. Its blend of firepower, reliability, and ergonomic features make it a versatile tool for both professional and recreational use.

Based on requests from military and civilian customers alike, the Tavor 7 is IWI’s introduction to the 7.62×51 bullpup rifle offering. The Tavor carries the usual reliability expected of all IWI products with some increased ergonomic features. This includes the ability to lock the charging handle without the use of the bolt catch. The rifle’s body is built from high-strength impact-modified polymer and has a hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel for enhanced accuracy and life cycle.
